Zapdor Foundation

Zapdor Foundation is based out of a place in West Vinod Nagar, at D-501. It’s in East Delhi, a part of town that’s always moving. Our space is on the fifth floor, so we get a decent view of the rooftops around us. It’s not a fancy glass building, just a regular block where people live and work. We have a couple of rooms where we set up our computers and files. It gets pretty cramped when everyone is in at the same time, but we make it work. Most of us have lived in Delhi our whole lives, so we know the area well. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on a flashy office when the money could go toward our projects instead. We spend a lot of our time talking to people in the neighborhood and figuring out what needs to be fixed. There’s always someone coming by with a problem or a suggestion. We don’t have a big fancy website or a bunch of brochures. We just talk to people face to face. Sometimes we stay late into the night just to finish up some planning. It’s a simple life, but the work feels important to us. We just take things one day at a time and try to be helpful to the folks around here in West Vinod Nagar. The elevators sometimes act up, so we end up taking the stairs. It’s all part of the daily routine here at the foundation.
