Down at K-3 in Krishan Nagar, things stay pretty busy with all the electrical supplies we keep on the shelves. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes because there are boxes of wires, switches, and conduits piled up almost to the ceiling. We’ve been at this location for a long time, and most people in the neighborhood know where to find us when a fuse blows or they’re starting a new wiring job. The shop isn’t anything special to look at, just a regular place with a counter and a lot of inventory. We spend a good chunk of the day cutting lengths of wire or looking through catalogs to find specific parts that someone needs for a repair. It can get dusty, and the smell of rubber and copper is pretty much everywhere. My hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift from handling all the metal parts. We don’t go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People just come in because they know we have the stuff they need. Sometimes we’re just sitting here waiting for the delivery truck to show up, and other times it’s a mad rush with three different contractors wanting things at the same time. It’s a plain, working-class shop in a regular part of town, and that suits us just fine. We just keep the lights on and keep working until the day is done.
