U. K. Exim

U. K. Exim is located at 15 A, New Layalpur Ext. It’s a small office where we handle all the paperwork for the import and export stuff we do. Most people think this kind of business is exciting, but it’s actually a lot of sitting at desks and checking shipping manifests. We deal with various goods depending on what’s in demand. One month it might be one thing, and the next month it’s something totally different. The office is usually cluttered with samples and folders. We’ve got a couple of computers that have seen better days, but they still get the job done. The neighborhood is quiet enough, which is nice when we have to focus on long forms. We don't have a big warehouse here; this is just where the coordination happens. It’s a small operation. We have a few regular clients who know us by name, and we mostly communicate over the phone or email. We aren't looking to conquer the world or anything. We just want to make sure the shipments get from point A to point B without getting stuck in customs for too long. It’s not the kind of job you talk about at dinner, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. It’s stressful sometimes, especially when there are delays at the port that we can’t control. We just take it day by day and try to keep the documents in order. We keep a kettle in the corner for coffee when it gets late.
