Swachhagrahi Foundation

Our little spot is on the second floor over in Laxmi Nagar, right where the Mangal Bazar gets really busy. If you’ve ever been to this part of East Delhi, you know it stays pretty packed with people and shops. Swachhagrahi Foundation is basically just us trying to keep our surroundings a bit more decent. It gets quite messy around here with the market crowds, so there is always something that needs cleaning up or fixing. We started this because we live here too and got tired of seeing the trash pile up. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. Most days we are just figuring out where to put bins or how to get the neighbors to help out with the alleyways. Being at F-225-A gives us a good view of the street, so we see the problems firsthand every single morning. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big budget. It’s more about just showing up and doing the work. Sometimes we struggle to get people to listen, which can be frustrating. But then you see a clean corner and it feels like the effort was worth it. We’re just regular people from the 110092 area who think a clean street makes a big difference in how your day goes. It’s simple, really. No big speeches, just picking up what needs picking up and hoping others do the same. This market is our home and we just want it to look like it.
