Sushma Rani

My name is Sushma Rani and you can find me at House Number 4128, Gali No. 14 in Shanti Mohalla. This is right in the Gandhi Nagar area of Delhi. If you’ve ever been here, you know it’s one of the biggest textile markets around. The lanes are very narrow and always crowded with people carrying bundles of cloth. My place is tucked away in one of those lanes. It’s a bit of a maze to get here the first time, but once you know Gali 14, it’s easy. I work out of a small room that’s usually filled with samples and notebooks. It’s a noisy neighborhood, especially during the peak business hours. I started working here because I wanted to be part of the hustle of Gandhi Nagar. There’s an energy here that you don’t get anywhere else. I don't have a big corporate team; it's mostly just me and a couple of others helping out. We deal with whatever comes our way, from small requests to bigger loads. Some days are very long, and we end up staying late under the tube lights. We don't have fancy branding or a polished image. We’re just local people working in the heart of the garment district. Every day is a struggle with the traffic and the heat, but we keep going because this is where our roots are. It’s just honest, hard work.
