My shop, Rohit Kumar Photography, is over in Shakarpur on Gali No-3. If you know where the Jain Mandir is, we are right there at B-36. I’ve been taking photos around here for a long time. It’s not a huge studio with bright lights and fancy stuff, just a practical space where I work. Being near Shubham Eating Corner is great because the smell of food is always around, which makes the day better. I usually have my camera ready for whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s families, sometimes it’s just someone needing a quick print. Delhi 110092 is home to me, and I like being part of the neighborhood. The street can be narrow and crowded, but that’s just how Shakarpur is. I don't use a lot of big words to talk about what I do. I just take pictures. People come in, we talk about what they need, and I do my best to get it right. It’s a one-man show mostly, though I have someone help me out when it gets really busy during wedding season. I spend a lot of time editing at my desk. It’s a quiet life in a loud city. I like seeing the same faces every day. If you’re walking past the temple, you’ll probably see my sign. I’m usually inside working on some prints or cleaning my lenses. It’s honest work.
