Retd. As Executive Engineer- Civil From Cpwd On 30/06/2007

I used to be an Executive Engineer on the civil side for the CPWD, but I finally called it a day back on June 30th, 2007. It has been quite a few years since I left the service. Now I spend my time at 203, United Plaza, which is in the Community Centre in Karkardooma, Delhi. Even though I am retired, I still keep this spot as a base for my personal work and some consulting here and there. It is a busy area of Delhi, 110092, and there is always something going on outside the window. I spent my whole career dealing with buildings and infrastructure, so I still find myself looking at construction sites and wondering if they are doing it right. It is a habit I can't quit. The office in United Plaza is simple and honest, nothing like those modern glass buildings you see in Gurgaon. I keep my old books and some project files from the CPWD days around. It is more of a place for me to stay active and keep my mind sharp. I don't look for big contracts or anything, just a few things to keep me busy. Life is slower now, and I am quite happy with that. Being in the community centre means I am never too far from a cup of tea or a quick chat.
