Our business is based in Mandawali, over in the Fazalpur area of East Delhi. We are at house number 299, right near the North School Block. It is a very crowded neighborhood with narrow lanes, so it can be hard to get a car through here. We work with organic food products, so our space is mostly filled with big sacks of grains and pulses. It is not a retail shop, more like a small warehouse and packing center. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the bags and making sure everything is labeled correctly. The rooms are a bit cramped because we have so much stock right now. It gets noisy during the day when the school children are outside playing or heading home. We have a few local people who come in to help us with the heavy lifting and sorting. It is physical work, and we are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning, just a couple of fans and some old wooden desks. We keep track of everything in big ledger books and on a small computer. It is a basic setup, but it works for what we need. We just focus on getting the organic goods out to the people who order them. It is a quiet life here in Mandawali, just doing our daily tasks.
