Out here at 129 Khurji Khas on Patparganj Road, things are always moving fast. The road stays busy from early morning until late at night. Our shop is where we handle the auto stuff, mostly parts and industrial bits that people need for their vehicles or small machines. It is usually a bit greasy because that is just the nature of the work we do. We have shelves stacked high with boxes, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. The floor is concrete and has some stains from over the years. We spend a lot of time talking to mechanics who stop by. Sometimes the neighbors come in just to say hello while they are walking down the road. It isn't a showroom or anything fancy. It is a workspace. We have a small fan that tries its best in the summer, but it is mostly just open doors to let the air in. There is a lot of noise from the trucks passing by outside. We keep a ledger for the accounts and a heavy old stapler that never breaks. Most days are just about checking what came in and making sure the right parts go out to the right people. It is steady work and it keeps us occupied from Monday to Saturday. There is usually someone around if you need to ask about a specific part for an older engine.
