We are based at 444 in the F.I.E. area of Patparganj. It’s an industrial estate, so there’s always a lot of movement and the sound of machinery nearby. Our building is pretty straightforward, with a workshop floor and a bit of space for the desks. At Piyush Electronics & Electricals, we deal with a lot of small components and long reels of wire. Most days you’ll find us hunched over a bench with a soldering iron or checking some plans on a cluttered desk. It’s the kind of work that requires a bit of patience. We have a small crew, and we’ve all known each other for years. The office part of the building is usually filled with the sound of the phone ringing or someone typing away. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist to greet you. If someone comes by, one of us just looks up from what we’re doing. We keep a kettle in the corner for making coffee and tea, which is pretty much essential for us. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just use that time to sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on the tasks we have for the day and try to make sure everything is put together correctly. It’s not glamorous, but it is what we know how to do.
