Optiview

Optiview is situated at Plot Number 12 1 in Karkardooma. If you are familiar with this part of Delhi, you know it’s a mix of residential and commercial spots. We are right in the thick of it. The shop isn't anything fancy. We have the racks for the glasses and a small desk where we do the fittings. Delhi dust is a real thing, so cleaning the displays is the first thing we do every morning. We get a lot of people coming in from the nearby apartments. Some just want their nose pads replaced or their frames straightened after they sat on them. We've seen it all. The area is always humming with the sound of traffic and people walking to the metro station. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. People just see the sign and walk in. We have a decent variety of frames, mostly stuff that people actually want to wear every day. It’s just a few of us working here. We take turns going out for lunch or grabbing a snack from the vendors nearby. It’s a regular job in a regular part of town. We like the regulars who stop by just to say hello even if they don't need new glasses. It makes the shop feel like part of the street. We stay open until the metro traffic dies down. It's a long day but we like it.
