Ojas Trading Co.

Ojas Trading Co. is located at No. 9/6496 in Nehru Gali, which is one of the many busy streets in Gandhi Nagar. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how tight the lanes are and how much stuff is moving around at any given time. Our space is basically a small office and a storage area combined. We deal with various goods, mostly trading whatever is in demand in the local market. It’s a lot of phone calls and keeping track of who owes what and where the next delivery is coming from. The walls are lined with boxes, and sometimes it feels like there’s barely enough room to sit down. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the other traders in the lane. It’s a noisy environment with the sounds of rickshaws and people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big sign. Most people find us because they’ve been doing business in Nehru Gali for years and know where we sit. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. We just try to keep our records straight and make sure the goods get where they need to go. It’s a simple operation, run by people who know the market inside and out. We close the shutters late and do it all again the next day.
