Niramayi Welfare Foundation

If you know the Aggarwal Sweets Shop in Shakarpur, then you basically know where we are. We are right across from it, up on the top floor of S-60/C in the School Block. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but the view of the busy street below is alright. Niramayi Welfare Foundation is basically just a few of us who wanted to do something for the local folks here in East Delhi. We spend a lot of time in this little office talking to people from the neighborhood. It’s usually pretty noisy outside with the traffic and people going to the market, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don’t really do fancy meetings or big events. Usually, it is just someone dropping by to ask for a bit of help or advice. The 110092 zip code is a crowded place, and sometimes people get lost in the shuffle. We try to make sure that doesn't happen to the families we know. It is simple work, really. Some days we are busy from morning till night, and other days it’s just us cleaning up the files. We don’t have a lot of funding or anything, so we just do what we can with what we have. It’s honest work and we like being right here in the middle of everything in Shakarpur. It feels like we are part of the daily life of the area.
