Navika Foundation

Navika Foundation is based out of A-224 in the Mangal Apartment complex in Vasundhara Enclave. It’s a nice enough spot in East Delhi, though finding a parking space inside the enclave can be a bit of a nightmare if you arrive at the wrong time. Our office is basically an apartment, so it has a very homey feel to it. We have a small kitchen where we make way too much tea, and the living room is where most of our meetings happen. We aren't a corporate entity with a lobby and a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just opens it. We focus on community stuff, mostly helping out the people who live in and around Vasundhara Enclave. Since we are right here in the apartments, we see our neighbors every day, which makes the work feel very personal. Sometimes we help with local clean-up drives or just organize small gatherings for the residents. The walls are covered with notes and calendars because we’re always trying to keep track of different events. It’s not a perfect system, and we definitely lose our pens more often than we should, but we get things done. Being in a residential building means we have to keep the noise down, but it also means we’re right in the heart of the community we serve. We usually wrap things up by seven when people start coming home.
