Madrasi Piles Clinic. Shop S 1/B in Shakarpur. It’s right in the school block. In the mornings, you can hear the kids playing and the bells ringing. Our shop is small, but it’s enough for what we need. We’ve got a couple of rooms and a desk at the front. The paint is a bit faded near the entrance, but we like it that way. It shows we’ve been here for some time. People come in from all over the neighborhood, mostly walking or on scooters. Finding parking around here is a bit of a headache, to be honest. We tell people to just park near the corner and walk over. Inside, it’s mostly quiet except for when the fan rattles a bit. We’ve been meaning to fix that fan for months now. We just do the work. No big meetings or fancy talk. If someone comes in, we talk to them and see what’s wrong. Most of our regulars know us by name. It’s a tight space, so you get to know everyone pretty well. Sometimes we have to wait for the medicine delivery guy who is always late. We keep some old magazines on the table, though nobody really reads them anymore. It’s just how things are at the Shakarpur branch. We open up early and stay until the last person is seen. It’s a simple life. We keep a light on in the window even when we are closed.
