Loomtex International

You’ll find Loomtex International on the ground floor at 37, Shanti Vihar. We work with textiles, so the place is usually full of fabric samples and big heavy books of patterns. It’s a ground-floor unit, which makes it easy for moving things in and out. The office is pretty basic with just some desks and a couple of chairs for when people come to visit. We spend a lot of time looking at different weaves and checking colors. It’s not always glamorous; there’s a lot of dust from the fabrics and we spend hours on the phone with mills. We’ve been in Shanti Vihar for a good bit now, and the neighbors are all pretty quiet. Sometimes the courier is late and we end up waiting around past closing time. We don't have a big glossy brochure or anything like that. We just show people the actual cloth we have. The air conditioner is a bit noisy, but we need it when the weather gets hot. Most of our work is about getting the right materials to the right people. It’s a lot of sorting and labeling. If the place looks a bit cluttered, it’s just because we have a lot of new samples arriving every week. We try to stay on top of it, but it’s a lot of work for a small team. It’s a steady, everyday kind of business for us in the textile trade.
