If you go to Main Bazar in Lakshmi Nagar, specifically near Krishna Kunj, you will find our place at number 5. It’s a lively neighborhood and there is always something going on in the street outside. We make and sell all kinds of sweets and snacks. Usually, the smell of sugar or frying dough hits you before you even see the sign. We’ve got glass counters filled with different treats that we make daily. Some days are busier than others, especially when there’s a holiday or a big festival coming up. Then, we are working late into the night just to keep the shelves full. It’s a family-run kind of vibe here. My cousin helps out with the frying and I usually handle the customers at the front. The shop is small and can get a bit cramped when five or six people walk in at once. We don’t have fancy seating or anything like that, most people just buy their box of sweets and head home. The floor gets a bit sticky sometimes, no matter how much we wash it, that is just the nature of working with syrup. Lakshmi Nagar is a crowded area, so we get a lot of foot traffic from people living in the apartments nearby. We use local ingredients and just try to make things that taste like they should. Nothing too complicated about it. We’ve been here at this spot for years and plan to stay for many more.
