Karwaan Sharda Foundation

Karwaan Sharda Foundation is tucked away at H. No. 18 on the first floor. We are in Adarsh Mohalla, which is part of Village Patparganj in Delhi, 110091. It’s a very local feel here. You really get the sense of being in a community when you walk through the streets of Patparganj. Our office on the first floor is where we manage everything. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but once you’re here, it’s a quiet place to get things done. We have a few rooms filled with books and papers. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If you come by, you just walk in and talk to whoever is free. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us. We find that being in a village setting like Patparganj keeps us close to the people we are actually working for. There is no distance between us and the street. We hear the kids playing and the vendors shouting outside. It reminds us why we started this foundation in the first place. We don’t have big goals of changing the world overnight. We just want to do our bit from H. No. 18 and see where it goes. It is honest work in a real neighborhood with real people.
