Ircon International Ltd, which is a Govt of India Undertaking, is situated at Flat 6B, Type Iv, Block 101, in the Railway Quarters at Anand Vihar, Delhi 110092. Being in the railway quarters means we are right in the middle of a very specific part of the city. It’s a government area, so things follow a certain rhythm. The flat itself is a standard Type Iv layout. It’s not meant to be a showy office. We have desks set up in the different rooms, and the walls are filled with charts and maps. Anand Vihar is always buzzing with activity because of the station and the bus terminal nearby, but inside the quarters, it stays a bit calmer. We spend our days dealing with the usual paperwork and coordination that comes with being a government undertaking. The furniture is mostly old wooden stuff that’s been around for years. We make do with what we have. Most of the people working here are used to the commute through East Delhi. It can be a bit of a trek when the traffic is bad, but we are always here on time. We don't have any flashy branding on the outside, just a simple door in Block 101. It is a straightforward place to work, and we just focus on getting through the list of tasks assigned to us each week. The neighborhood has its own quiet charm, and we are quite comfortable here in this little part of India.
