Heritage World

Heritage World is over at 105, Laxmi Chamber, D-223, in Laxmi Nagar, right off Vikas Marg. It’s a busy spot in Delhi, and the traffic on Vikas Marg is something you just have to live with. Our office is inside the chamber building, which is full of other small businesses like ours. We have a lot of old things around the room—books, some old maps, and bits of history that we’ve collected. It’s a bit crowded, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit if we have guests. We don't have a modern minimalist look. It’s more like a library that hasn’t been dusted in a week. We like the character of the place, though. Laxmi Nagar is a very energetic neighborhood with plenty of food stalls and people everywhere. We usually get our lunch from one of the vendors downstairs. The office has big windows, but they mostly look out at other buildings. We spend our time researching and talking to people who have an interest in older things. It’s not the kind of job that makes you rich, but it’s interesting enough to keep us coming back every day. We aren't a big corporation with departments and managers. It’s just a few of us sharing a space and trying to keep things running smoothly. It’s simple and we like the neighborhood. We don't mind the noise from the street, it makes the place feel alive.
