Five Elements Infrastructure is based at 80-A in Mayur Vihar II. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads. The office is located on a street where you can actually hear the birds sometimes, which is a nice change for Delhi. Inside the office, things are pretty basic. We have some long tables where we spread out the site plans and blueprints. There are always a few hard hats lying around near the door because someone is always heading out to a site. We don’t have a fancy lobby with a water feature or anything like that. It’s a workspace for people who don’t mind getting their hands a bit dirty. The team is a mix of older guys who have been in construction forever and a few younger ones who are still learning the ropes. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers about sand and bricks. The printer at 80-A is always running out of ink right when we need to print something important. We just laugh it off and go get a refill from the shop nearby. We don’t have a mission statement on the wall. We just focus on finishing the projects we started. It’s practical work. Most of our clients are people we’ve known for a long time. We show up, we do the job, and we go home. That’s how we operate here in Mayur Vihar.
