Fine Printing Press

Down in Gali No-16 in Ajit Nagar, things are always a bit noisy because of the machines running. We are tucked away at 4039/2, which isn’t the easiest place to find if you aren’t from around Gandhi Nagar. Fine Printing Press has been our life for years now. The smell of ink is pretty much on everything we own, even our clothes. We spend most of our time looking at paper samples or fixing a paper jam that happened at the worst time. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we stack the finished jobs so they don’t get dusty. Most days, it’s just a lot of cutting, printing, and packing things into brown paper. Customers come in with all sorts of requests, some simple and some that make us scratch our heads a bit. We try to get things done when we say we will, though sometimes the electricity acts up or a machine needs a part we can't find quickly. It’s just how it goes here. There’s no big office or front desk, just us working among the stacks of paper and the hum of the press. We’ve seen Gandhi Nagar change quite a bit, but the demand for good old-fashioned printing never seems to go away. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, but it feels good to see a job finished and ready to go.
