FEDERATION OF TEXTILE ENTREPRENEURS

We are located over in Pandav Nagar at D-49, on the first floor. It’s really easy to find because we are right opposite the Mother Dairy plant. That’s a big landmark in this part of East Delhi. The Federation of Textile Entrepreneurs is where we gather to handle the business of the textile community. It’s not a fancy club; it’s just an office where we have meetings and keep our records. The first floor gets a bit of a breeze if you open the windows, but you also get the smell of the dairy and the noise of the trucks. We have some old wooden desks and chairs that have been around for years. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it doesn't really affect what we do. We aren't here to look important. We are just here to support the people in the textile trade. Most days involve someone dropping in for a chat or a cup of tea while we go over some paperwork. It’s a very casual atmosphere. We don't have a dress code or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll just see people working and talking. It’s a bit messy with papers and old files, but we know where everything is. It’s a practical space for practical people who are just trying to make a living in the textile world around Delhi.
