Ashish Dawakhana is located at 408 Mandawali Main Road Fazal Pur Near Dr. Dinesh Joshi. The main road in Mandawali is always a bit of a mess with traffic, so there is constant honking and the sound of engines right outside our door. Being near Dr. Dinesh Joshi’s place makes it easy for people to pinpoint exactly where we are when they’re coming from further away. The shop at number 408 has a metal shutter that’s gotten a bit stiff over the years, so it makes a loud noise when we open up in the morning. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and a small desk where we keep the ledger. The walls have a few marks on them from where furniture was moved around, and the ceiling fan wobbles a little bit on high speed. It’s a very straightforward place. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we’re always wiping down the counter. There’s a guy who sells snacks just a few doors down, and the smell of frying samosas is pretty constant in the afternoons. Fazal Pur is a busy area, and we are right in the thick of it. We don't have a lot of space for people to lounge around, so it’s usually a quick in-and-out kind of thing. It’s a practical shop for a practical neighborhood, and we’ve been at this same spot for a long time now, watching the street change.
