Alcoa Asia Ltd. New Delhi

Down at 619/620 in the Meridien Commercial Tower, things stay pretty busy for us at Alcoa Asia Ltd. New Delhi. Being on the 6th floor gives us a decent view of the surroundings on Raisina Road, though most of the time we are too buried in paperwork to look out the window. It is a liaison office, so it is a lot of coordinating and talking to people on the phone rather than making things with our hands. The building itself is quite central, which makes it easy for visitors to find us, even if the New Delhi traffic is a bit of a nightmare during the rush hours. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to cut through the silence of the office. The lifts in this tower can be a bit temperamental, so a few of us often end up taking the stairs if we are in a hurry. Our space is filled with files, computers, and the usual office stuff you would expect. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days, the desks get covered in notes and folders. It is a different pace than a factory floor, focused more on the details of the business and keeping everyone connected. We go through a lot of tea and biscuits while we are working through the afternoon stretch. It is just a regular group of people doing their jobs in a big city building.
