Aasahi India Glass Ltd.

Our office is up on the fifth floor of the Global Business Park, right there on the Delhi Mehrouli Road. It’s a different vibe than being on a factory floor, but we’re still very much involved in the glass business every single day. Aasahi India Glass Ltd. has a lot of people working here, mostly handling the logistics and the planning of how things get moved around the country. From the windows, you can see the constant stream of cars on the road below. It's quite a view, especially when the weather is clear. We spend a lot of time on the phones and in front of computers, trying to coordinate with the plants and the customers. It isn't always smooth. There are days when the shipments are delayed or the paperwork gets stuck somewhere, and we have to spend the whole afternoon sorting it out. We aren't a small shop anymore, but we try to keep things grounded. The breakroom usually has someone complaining about the traffic or talking about what they’re doing over the weekend. We don’t have a script for how we talk to people; we just try to be helpful and get the glass where it needs to go. It’s a lot of coordination and a lot of emails. Sometimes it feels like we’re drowning in spreadsheets, but then a project gets finished and it feels alright. We just come in, do our bit for the glass industry, and then head back out into that Delhi traffic.
