Icici Bank

So, we are over here at Maruti Darshan on the road that leads to the Krishna Murari Tibrewal Sports Club in Motihari. It gets pretty busy around here, especially when there is something big going on at the club. This branch of Icici Bank is where a few of us spend most of our daylight hours. It is not a very fancy place, just a regular office with desks, computers, and a lot of paper moving around. People from all over the neighborhood come in to sort out their passbooks or ask about their accounts. Sometimes the fans are clicking and it gets a bit warm in the summer months, but we just keep going. Outside on the street, you can hear the traffic and people shouting to each other, but inside we mostly just focus on the numbers and the screens. We’ve seen the same faces for years now. Some of the older folks stop by just to say hello or ask for help with a form because their eyesight isn't what it used to be. We don't have a big corporate speech to give anyone. It is just a bank in a busy part of Bihar. We deal with the cash, the systems going down once in a while, and the usual daily rush that happens every morning. It is a lot of work keeping things straight, especially on Mondays when everyone seems to have a problem to solve. We try to keep the plastic chairs tidy for everyone waiting. It’s just how things are in a small town branch like this. We are just part of the furniture here.
