Our office is over at Shanti Niwas on G T Road West in Asansol. We are in Flat 3E, right across from the Income Tax Office. It’s a very central spot, which makes it easy for people to find us, even if the traffic on G T Road is usually a nightmare. Being involved with The Orissa Minerals And Development Authority Ltd means we have a lot on our plate. The office is often full of maps and old reports. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. We aren't a big corporate giant with glass walls. We are just a group of people working out of a flat. The building is older, and the elevator sometimes has a mind of its own, so we often just take the stairs to the third floor. We spend a lot of time dealing with various government departments and local site issues. It’s a lot of back-and-forth work. Asansol is a gritty, hardworking town, and our office reflects that. We don't have a PR department to make us sound better than we are. We just handle the mineral rights and the developmental projects as they come. Some days are spent entirely on the phone, and others are spent digging through archives. It’s not always exciting, but it’s necessary work for the area. We’ve been here long enough to see the city change quite a bit around our little office space.
