Maa Bonobibi Rice Shop

Maa Bonobibi Rice Shop is a small local spot in Vill-Bonbibitala, which is under the Jamalpur police station in Purba Burdwan. This part of Bengal is famous for its rice, so there are shops like ours all over, but we just focus on our little corner in Berugram. The shop is not anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the sacks of rice piled up for the people in the village and the surrounding areas. We have been here for a good while, and we know most of the people who come in by their first names. It is a simple way of doing things. We open the doors in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the farmers or the local families to stop by. Sometimes the bags are heavy and the humidity makes everything feel a bit slower, but we just get on with it. We don't have a website or any of those modern things; people just know we are here near the village center. The shop is named after Bonobibi, and it feels right for the location. We spend a lot of time weighing out grain and chatting with whoever walks in. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for when the new stock arrives.
