Gourav'S

Gourav'S is located in the Uttarpally area of Benachity, right in the heart of Burdwan's busy market zone. If you have ever been to Benachity, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the evenings. Our shop is just one of many, but we have our regular customers who have been coming to us for years. We sell a variety of things, mostly items people need for their homes or for gifts. The shop is narrow, so we have to use the wall space all the way up to the ceiling. I usually need a ladder to reach the top shelves. It is a bit of a workout. My brother and I take turns at the counter. When the festival season comes, it gets so busy we barely have time to eat our lunch. But most days are just steady. We have a small television in the corner to keep us updated on the cricket scores. The traffic noise from the main road is always there in the background. We do not do any big promotions or sales. We just put the prices on the items and that is it. It is just how we work. We have seen other shops come and go in Uttarpally, but we have managed to stay put. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and the floor clean. It is a simple life in a busy place. We hope to stay here for a long time yet.
