At Karanja Bhilai Indane Gramin V, we spend our days at Kh. No. 144/1 And 144/2. Our main job is dealing with gas cylinders for the people in the surrounding rural areas. It is hard, physical work and our clothes are usually stained with grease and dust by the end of the shift. The yard at Kh. No. 144/1 is where we keep the stock and it’s always busy with trucks coming in to reload. We have to be careful with the tanks because they are heavy and can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. It’s a bit out of the way, but we have a good system for getting the deliveries out to the farms and houses nearby. The sun can be really brutal out here in the open, so we try to get most of the heavy moving done in the early morning. We aren't a big fancy office with air conditioning. We have a small shed where we keep the records and a few chairs for when we take a breather. It’s a simple life and we know most of the families we serve by their first names. We don't have a lot of rules, just getting the gas to where it needs to go. Being at Kh. No. 144/1 and 144/2 keeps us close to the community we work in. It’s just us, the trucks, and the cylinders every single day.
