Our office for Transport Corp.Of India Ltd. is tucked away in Santra village. It falls under the Patan Thana in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh. If you know the 491111 area, you know it’s a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. It is mostly just a bunch of desks and some heavy-duty vehicles parked out front. We spend a lot of time dealing with paperwork and making sure the drivers are getting enough rest before they head back out on the highway. Chhattisgarh has some long stretches of road, and we are right in the middle of it. The weather gets really hot, so we usually have the fans going full blast all day. It’s not the kind of job where you sit around doing nothing. There’s always a problem to solve or a delivery that needs tracking. We don’t use any of those fancy business words because they don’t really fit what we do every day. We just move stuff from point A to point B and try not to have any breakdowns along the way. Most of the people working here live nearby, so it feels more like a community spot than a big company branch. We’ve seen the village change a bit over the years, but the way we handle the trucks stays pretty much the same. It works for us.
