Ss Rice Mill

We run Ss Rice Mill out in Village Nathu Nawagaon. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, near Dongargarh. We are located right near the Vishnu Power & Energy plant, which is a big landmark for us. The mill stays busy during the season when the farmers bring in their paddy. It’s a lot of dust and noise, but it’s what we know. My father started this mill and now we handle the daily operations. We aren't some big city business with fancy offices. We have a small room where we keep the records and that’s about it. The village life is quiet except for the mill sounds. We know almost everyone around here. People come by to talk about the crop prices or just to have a chat. We don’t do any marketing. We just let the rice speak for itself. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we spend all night fixing it. That’s just how it goes with a rice mill. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our name on the wall. It’s a practical business. We work when there is work to do. During the off-season, we clean the place up and wait for the next harvest. It’s a cycle we’ve been following for years now. Just simple people doing a simple job in Rajnandgaon. We take things as they come and don't worry too much about the rest.
