Working at Sail inside the Energy Management Dept. Bsp is a bit different than a regular street-side shop. It is a big operation and there is always a lot of technical stuff going on. Our days are filled with looking at numbers and checking on how the energy is being used across the plant. It is not a place with a lot of visitors or walk-in customers. It is mostly just us and the other departments trying to keep the systems running smoothly. The office is functional, nothing too special to look at. We have a lot of old manuals and charts on the walls that have been there for years. The hum of the plant is always there in the background, you kind of get used to it after the first week. We do not have a lot of time for fancy talk. There is always a report to finish or a meter that needs checking out in the field. Sometimes we have to head out to different parts of the BSP site, which can be a long walk depending on where we are going. It is a steady job and we take it one day at a time. The people here are mostly long-timers who have seen the plant through all sorts of changes. We just focus on the task in front of us. It is not about being the best, it is just about making sure the lights stay on and the energy flows where it needs to go for the shift.
