Prathama Smile Education Foundation

We are tucked away in Shop-1 at the Shastri Market. If you walk down Nandini Road in the Power House area of Bhilai, you’ll see where we are. It’s a busy market, so there is always noise from the street and people shouting to get things sold. We like it that way because it feels alive. Prathama Smile Education Foundation is basically just this one shop. We have some books, some benches, and a lot of kids coming in and out when they aren't in school. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Most of the time, we are too busy trying to organize the next set of lessons or checking on how the local students are doing. Bhilai is a tough town, very industrial, and the Power House area is right in the middle of it all. We don’t have a big budget or anything. We just use what we have to keep the doors open. Sometimes the power goes out in the market, and we have to sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s just part of being in Shastri Market. Folks around here stop by to say hello or drop off things they think we might need. We are just local people trying to help out where we can. It’s a small shop, but it keeps us busy every single day. We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else right now.
