Manglam Hospital

If you know Polsai Chowk, you know how loud it gets with all the rickshaws and people moving about. Our hospital is right there in the thick of it. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, especially on market days when the traffic is backed up right to our front step. We started out small and just kept going as the area grew around us. The floors are worn down from so many people walking over them every day. We don’t have those shiny glass walls or expensive art. It’s just a place with beds, some medicine, and people who know what they’re doing. The staff usually eats lunch together in a small back room whenever there’s a break in the crowd. Sometimes we run out of chairs in the waiting area, so people just lean against the walls and chat. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we get the job done. The paperwork can be a headache sometimes, and the computers are a bit slow, but we manage. People come to us because they know where we are and they’ve been coming here for years. It’s a local spot, through and through. You might hear the shouting from the chowk while you’re inside, but we’re used to it. It’s just part of being in this part of town. We keep things simple and honest for the people living nearby.
