Bal Nirman Foundation

You’ll find Bal Nirman Foundation over at C1/74 in Surya Vihar, Junwani. That’s in the Bhilai area of Durg. We’ve been at this address for a while now, working out of a regular house in the neighborhood. It’s a pretty calm place to be, with kids playing in the streets and people going about their business. We focus on kids, which is why we picked the name Bal Nirman. We aren't a big institution with a board of directors and a lot of red tape. It’s just a small group of us trying to make sure the children around here have a better shot at things. We spend a lot of time on the phone or meeting with parents in the living room. It can get a bit noisy when everyone is talking at once, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a fancy website or anyone to do our PR. If you want to know about us, you just have to come by and talk to us. We’re usually here most days, just sorting through paperwork or planning our next small project. Bhilai is a big town, and it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle, but we try to stay focused on our little corner in Junwani. We don't always get everything right on the first try, but we keep working at it because we care about the neighborhood.
