Vishwakarma Furniture is situated on the Main Road in Simalwara. If you are looking for us, we are right near Modha. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of dust and noise from the passing trucks, but it also means people find us easily enough. The shop is filled with the smell of wood and the sound of tools being used. It is a bit messy sometimes because we are always in the middle of a project. You will see planks of wood leaning against the walls and sawdust on the floor. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. We have been in Simalwara for a long time and the locals know us by name. The main road is the heart of the town, so there is always someone passing by to say hello or ask about a piece of furniture. We work mostly during the daylight hours when the light is good. There’s a small bench outside where we take breaks. It’s a simple life, working with our hands and making sure the items are sturdy. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is just done with pencil and paper. It is a practical business and we like being right here on the road where the action is, doing the work we have always done.
