Road Construction

Our shop is number 29 in the Upadhyay Market in Sagwara. It’s right near the Upadhyay Stadium, so on game days, the whole area gets really crowded with people and cars. We do road construction work, so most of our time isn't actually spent in the shop. The shop is more of a place where we store the cones, the levels, and all the paperwork that comes with the job. It’s a small space, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint. We spend our days out on the hot asphalt, dealing with the sun and the dust. It’s a tough way to make a living, but it’s what we know how to do. You see a lot of things when you’re working on the roads. People driving by usually look a bit annoyed because of the delays, but that’s just part of it. We try to keep things moving. Back at the market, the other shopkeepers are friendly. We usually grab some snacks from the vendor next door during our breaks. The office part is mostly just me trying to figure out the schedule for the next week and making sure the rollers and trucks are fueled up. It's not a glamorous job. It’s about grit and getting the gravel laid down properly before the next rain hits the stadium area. We just keep at it every single day we can.
