Goods Carriage (Tata Ace)

I spend most of my day sitting in the seat of the Tata Ace. It’s parked right outside H. No -1-176 in Mallampally when I’m not out on a job. Duggondi roads can be a bit rough depending on the season, especially after the rains start and the potholes fill up. People around here know the truck well by now. I usually start early before the sun gets too high because once it’s noon, the cabin gets pretty hot and the vinyl seats start to stick. My work at Goods Carriage (Tata Ace) is basically just moving things from one spot to another for the locals. Sometimes it’s furniture, other times it’s sacks of grain or leftover construction materials from a site. I don’t have a big office or anything, just the vehicle and my phone. The house in Mallampally is where everything happens and where I keep my logbook on the small table by the door. It’s a simple life. You see a lot of things on the road. Some days are slow and I just sit and clean the windshield or check the oil while waiting for a call. Other days, I’m driving back and forth until late at night. The engine has a specific sound that I’ve gotten used to over the years. It’s not a fancy setup, but it gets the job done for the folks around Duggondi. I don’t really think about it much, I just get up, check the tires, and see who needs help moving their goods.
