Grocery Store

This shop is located at number 89 in the Khonsa Upper Market area. It is right near Chandni Market, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside. I spend most of my time behind the counter or trying to find space for new boxes that arrive. Grocery Store isn't a fancy name, but it tells people what they need to know. We carry the usual things like pulses, soaps, and snacks. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling because the floor space is quite small. I have to use a little stool to reach the top items sometimes. It gets crowded in here on market days when everyone is out doing their shopping at once. I try to remember where everything is so I don't keep people waiting too long. Sometimes I forget to update the prices right away or I misplace the pen I use for the books. It’s just me and a helper most days. We talk to the other shopkeepers when it’s slow, mostly about the weather or how the local roads are getting blocked again. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that I’ve stopped noticing after all these years. It’s just a regular place where people stop by for their daily needs. We keep the doors open until late evening when the market starts to quiet down.
