We are based in Village Kalkasa, which is part of Dondi Lohara. Our office is just at House Number 10, where Pyare Lal Deshmukh lives. It is a place for us farmers to get together and handle the business side of our work. Farming in Kalkasa is a full-time job for everyone here. We grow what we can and try to sell it for a price that covers our costs. Having a company helps us stay organized with the paperwork. It is not a corporate office with a sign out front. It is just a house where we keep the records and meet to discuss the seeds and the weather. We all know each other well. Sometimes we have long days in the sun and then spend the evening talking about the harvest on the porch. We wanted to make sure we could manage things better as a group. It is practical work. We deal with the tractors, the seeds, and the buyers. Some years are tougher than others, but we keep at it. Most of our members are just neighbors who have worked these fields for many years. We do the work ourselves and keep it simple. There are no big bosses here, just people who know about soil and crops. We focus on the day to day tasks and making sure the grain gets to where it needs to go after it is cut. It is hard work but it is honest.
