We are located right near the bus stand, which means there is never a silent moment around here. You can hear the engines idling and the conductors shouting out destinations from the moment we open until we close up at night. It is a very dusty spot because of all the tires kicking up dirt from the road, so we are constantly cleaning the glass and the counters. The shop is simple and functional, with everything within arm's reach. We don't have a lot of storage space, so we have to be very organized with how we stack the medicines and the supplies. People often wander in thinking we sell bus tickets or asking for directions, and we just point them the right way. The heat can be a bit much in the middle of the day since we are so close to the open road, but a small fan keeps us going. Most of the staff has been working here for years, so we know exactly where every single item is kept on the shelves. We eat our lunch in the back room where it is a little quieter away from the commuters. It is a very basic operation, but being near the bus stand means we are easy to find for anyone coming into town. We don't spend money on fancy displays or lighting; we just focus on keeping the stock levels right and the paperwork in order for the day.
