We spend most of our time at Gala No. 21 in the Datta Mahatre Compound. It’s right there in MIDC Phase 2 over in Dombivili East. If you know the area, you know it gets pretty busy with all the trucks and people moving around. We are directly opposite the Pimpaleshwar Mandir. You can hear the bells sometimes during the day which is a nice break from the machines. Being in an industrial zone like this means there’s always something going on. We work on pharma equipment here. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a practical space where we get the job done. The compound has its own rhythm. Some days the traffic on the main road makes it hard for the deliveries to get in on time, but we manage. Most of the guys here have been around for years. We know the neighbors and the tea stall nearby. It’s just how it is. We start early when the air is still a bit cool before the afternoon heat hits the gala. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a particular piece of machinery or organize the floor. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things over. People usually find us by looking for the temple first because the compound entrance can be easy to miss if you’re driving too fast. We like it here in Dombivili. It’s where we’ve set up and where we do our thing every day.
