Mandakini Foods

Mandakini Foods is tucked away in the Mini Industrial Area in Bhatwari. It’s a quiet spot compared to the bigger cities, which we like. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical place for food work. We spend a lot of time processing different food items. Sometimes things go smoothly and sometimes a machine breaks down right when you have a big order. That’s just how it goes here. We have a handful of workers from around the village who walk in every morning. We don’t do much talking while we work; we just get on with it. The floors are usually covered in whatever we are bagging that day. Bhatwari is a small place, so everyone knows where the industrial area is. We don’t have big billboards or anything. We mostly rely on the fact that we’ve been here for a while and people know we do honest work. Sometimes we sit outside near the entrance during lunch and watch the tractors go by. It’s a slow pace of life but the work is constant. We try to keep the equipment running and the bags moving out the door. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to keep the business going and provide for our families.
