Prayag Clinic

This version of Prayag Clinic is located at Fariha. It’s a small place, very much a part of the local scene here. We don't have the big crowds like the city clinics, but we stay steady with people coming and going. Most of the people who come in are farmers or families from the village. The building is simple, just one level with a couple of rooms for seeing patients. We don't have any of that high-tech equipment you see in the big city hospitals. We rely on what we know and what we see during the exams. Sometimes the power goes out in Fariha, so we keep some lanterns and torches handy just in case. It’s a very practical kind of place. We know everyone’s name and who their parents are. That’s just how it is in a small place like Fariha. We deal with everyday illnesses and basic health checks. If someone needs a big operation or a specialist, they usually have to head into the bigger towns. But for the small stuff, people come here. The waiting area is just a few chairs on the front porch. It’s peaceful most of the time, except when the goats get near the door or a loud tractor passes by. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a reliable spot for the community. We open early because that’s when people are up and moving. It’s a modest clinic, but it’s ours and we care about the work.
