Agri Talk

Agri Talk is situated at 15-68/8, right by the Byramangala Cross in Bidad. Out here, things move at a much slower pace than they do in the big city. Being near the crossroad means we see many people coming in from the nearby farms and fields. The dust from the road blows in through the front door all day long. We try to sweep it out every morning, but it usually comes right back in. The crossroad is always full of tractors and local buses going to different villages. We have a small wooden bench outside where we sit when the power goes out, which happens more than we would like. Inside the office, there are just a few chairs and some old tables. It is not much to look at. We spend a great deal of time talking to folks who stop by to discuss the weather or their crops. When it rains, the area around the office gets very muddy very fast. We keep some old jute sacks near the entrance so people can wipe their boots. There is a small tea shop just a few steps away that makes very strong ginger tea. That is where we go whenever we have a spare moment. The building is quite old and the paint is peeling off in the corners. We do not mind the look of it. It is a quiet life for the most part. We just focus on our daily tasks and then head home.
