Rohan Farm is out in Village Ekauna, which is part of the Amas taluka in Gaya district. It’s a quiet place, mostly just fields and trees as far as you can see. We spend most of our time outdoors working the land. It’s hard work and your clothes are always dirty by the end of the day. We grow what we can and take care of the livestock. My hands are usually calloused from the tools. In Ekauna, everyone knows each other’s business, so we often help the neighbors when their tractor breaks down or if they need an extra hand with the harvest. The weather is the biggest thing we worry about. If it doesn't rain, we're in trouble, and if it rains too much, the roads get washed out. We don't have an office or a desk. Most of our planning happens over a cup of tea on the porch. The farm has been around for a few generations. We aren't trying to do anything fancy, just keeping the traditions going and making sure the soil stays healthy. Sometimes the animals get out of the fence and we have to spend half the morning chasing them back. It’s frustrating but it’s part of the life. We don't have much to say about ourselves other than we work hard on this piece of land in Gaya. It’s a honest way to live and we are content with it.
