Vijay Hospital

Vijay Hospital is based in Usilampatti, which is near Madurai. Since we are near Madurai, we get a lot of people coming in from the surrounding villages and smaller towns. Usilampatti is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else, so we see a lot of familiar faces coming through our doors. The hospital isn't a massive complex; it’s just a straightforward building that serves the local community. The heat can get pretty intense around here, so we spend a lot of time making sure the fans are working and that there is a cool place for people to sit while they wait. We don’t have any slick brochures or corporate slogans on the walls. It’s more about just being there for the people who live nearby. The staff spends their day checking on things and talking to whoever walks in. It’s a very hands-on kind of environment. We don’t really use fancy words to describe what we do. We just open the doors in the morning and do the work that needs to be done until it’s time to go home. Sometimes the power goes out or things get a bit disorganized, but we just fix it and keep going. It’s the way things are in Usilampatti.
