Sridevi Betel Leaves

We run Sridevi Betel Leaves at number 49 on the Salem Main Road. Our place is in Ariyakulam and it is right there on the main stretch where all the trucks and cars go by day and night. We deal mostly in fresh betel leaves that we get from the nearby farms. It is a small operation, mostly family members helping out with the sorting and packing of the leaves. The leaves come in early in the morning and we have to get them ready before the sun gets too hot. Dealing with perishables like leaves is tricky because you have to move them fast before they wilt. We don't have a big warehouse, just this spot on the main road where people can stop their vehicles and pick up what they need for their shops. Most of our customers are regular shop owners from the town or travelers who know we are here. It is a lot of manual work, sitting on the floor and checking every leaf to make sure it is good enough to sell. We don't have any fancy machines for this work. The Salem Main Road is always noisy, but it helps our business because people see our sign clearly. We have been doing this for a while now and we know which season gives the best crops from the local fields. Ariyakulam is a good place for this kind of work. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to make a living and provide leaves.
